The Bellahouston Breakdown – A Long Vlog Post (Sorry!)

Posted on June 30, 2025June 30, 2025 By Priptona 2 Comments on The Bellahouston Breakdown – A Long Vlog Post (Sorry!)

Sorry for the vid – I felt like dissecting it all this way instead of taking hours to compile a written post. I know the vlog posts aren’t to everyone’s liking, so to save you the pain, the condensed summary is:

Yes & Maybe – great!

Hamish Hawk – you know I can wax lyrical about this guy, so no surprises he was my highlight.

KT Tunstall – fabulous and faultless.

Future Islands – the Marmite act on the bill. An acquired taste. Not an ‘aye’ nor a ‘naw’ but a ‘mabbies’….?

Simple Minds – accomplished but not exceptional. No ‘on fire’ superlatives from me.

Obviously I had much more to say about each of the acts and reasonings/feelings/explanations about my feelings on each. Watch the vid if you’re interested.

Weather was okay, could have been much worse. Have certainly experienced wetter outdoor gigs. Lots of walking! Blistered toes and VERY sore legs the next day. 1k short of 20k of steps, and a distance of 13kms walked. It was a looooong day.

I didn’t really take many photos or vids. Got a couple of clips, one of Yes & Maybe, one of KT Tunstall. Nothing of Hamish, Future Islands or SM. Just decided to enjoy the rest of the day without trying to get pics/vids and getting the phone out on and off. Will share the bits I did get later. Until then….

do you know the social media manager for the band? is it the man “Trent Barbosa” loudly dominating every post on every platform? its extremely overbearing. new concertgoer here and found your blog through YouTube concert vids 🙂

I think the social media person is called Linda Dark, I believe. At least, she used to be. I’m not so sure now. As for Trent Barbosa, from what I can see of his social media, he is just doing the band’s photography and video while they’re touring. It’s been a thing that the band has employed over the past several years – having someone doing photos/videos in-house. Some years back it was a young guy calling himself “The Parietal Eye” and more recently ToddeVision (Thorsten Samesch) has also been providing photos and videos for the band. His work has featured in album photography, most recently in the release of Live in the City of Diamonds. I also think some of his footage was used in the Everything Is Possible documentary – though don’t quote me on that!
