Priptona Talks To The Anchoress – ‘As We Once Were’ and more…

Posted on August 12, 2026August 12, 2026 By Priptona No Comments on Priptona Talks To The Anchoress – ‘As We Once Were’ and more…

Five years from my last conversation with The Anchoress (aka Catherine Anne Davies) regarding the release of previous album, The Art of Losing, I had the privlege once again to speak with her.

This time we discuss new album As We Once Were talking about; tracks on the album, the recording and production process, motherhood, creativity and artistic progression, as well as Catherine’s growing love for vintage synthesisers from her time with Simple Minds and learning Mick MacNeil’s musical compositions.

I really hope you enjoy our discussion. It is always such a joy to talk to Catherine.

As We Once Were is out now on Last Night From Glasgow – available on various coloured 2LP vinyl: linen, coral and blue (a LNFG exclusive) , stardard CD and a deluxe hardback 2CD, as well as cassette (pink and orange colour variants). There is also a limited edition bonus white label LP of various track mixes.

Local independent record stores have an exclusive burgundy colloured 2LP with signed print available.

The Anchoress will be performing at the 100 Club in London showcasing As We Once Were on 22 August 2026. Limited tickets are still available HERE
