I WISH YOU WERE HERE
Which song would you say was the most under-appreciated or overlooked track from Once Upon a Time? For me, it would be ‘I Wish You Were Here’. It is so overshadowed by the chart-topping big-hitters on the album, namely, ‘Alive and Kicking’, ‘All The Things She Said’ and ‘Sanctify Yourself’. Where do you think it rates in the canon of Simple Minds’ output? Do you feel a link between it and ‘Big Sleep’? And what does Jim Kerr have to say about death and how he dealt with it around the time of the release of Once Upon a Time? And what are my own thoughts on the track?
