There has been yet more nostalgia tripping for the band that prides itself on not wanting to be seen as a ‘heritage’ act. Yet more celebrations to do with THAT SONG having its 40th anniversary.
Simple Minds fans had a busy night last night. No sooner was Radio 2’s Sounds of the 80s (being co-hosted by Mr Kerr last night) over when the radio was turned off and the TV put on for a performance of DYFAM on the Jonathan Ross Show on ITV.

Here is a link to the Sounds of the 80s on BBC Sounds.
UPDATE: For overseas listeners, here is the edited version of the show (music has been removed for copyright purposes). Enjoy it!
I’ve yet to listen to it. I can see the list of what was played and well, it’s all pretty standard fare. I have to say, Kerr really does like to pick The Cult’s ‘She Sells Sanctuary’ quite often with these things. It must remind him of some particularly significant dalliance with a woman or something? Who knows? Maybe he has gone into detail this time as to why he’s chosen it? Your guess is as good as mine.
Here is the performance of DYFAM on last night’s Jonathan Ross Show for your delectation – if you so wish to pleasure yourself. (P.S. I love that the uploader of the video is called Lance Boyle. I’m sure it’s deliberate – if not, it’s a rather unfortunate name.)
More news as and when it comes…
