Minds Music Monday – For Your Pleasure

Posted on October 3, 2022October 3, 2023 By Priptona 2 Comments on Minds Music Monday – For Your Pleasure

Next Monday evening I am off to the Hydro to see Roxy Music’s 50th Anniversary show. I have been looking forward to this for MONTHS!

So…in celebration of this, here’s SM’s only cover of a Roxy song. Goddamn I wish they’d picked something else! But, I guess Jim loves it. It is probably my least fave Roxy song – certainly one of my least fave SM covers…and that pains me to say that, for unlike the majority of Minds fans, I actually enjoy a number of songs on Neon Lights. The antithesis of my feelings on For Your Pleasure is how utterly beautiful and amazing I find All Tomorrow’s Parties. It is, by far, my fave SM cover. Street Hassle used to be. They always seem to do Lou/VU best.

To make amends for this, let’s have one of my fave Roxy songs now – dedicated to His Kerrness.

Enjoy! Happy Roxy Music Monday! (P.S. Cannae wait til next week!)

Are they good live? I only know their obvious well known songs.

I?ve not seen them live before. I?ve only seen BF on his own (just before Covid Kicked off at the start of 2020). I haven?t really explored too much of their live stuff so I?m going in a bit blind. I?m a bit worried about how Bryan will sound but I am aware his voice isn?t the best these days but I?m as excited to see Manzanera, MacKay and Thompson on stage with BF to be honest. I?ll let you know in about a week?s time, Mr Scobes. ???
