Each time I walk into the Waterstones on Sauchiehall Street there is the thought in the back of my mind of walking in through the doors in the autumn and finding a copy of Simple Minds: Song by Song on the shelf. A book – with my name on it! Even the mere notion of it already being listed on Amazon is something I need to pinch myself about. As well as the number of fans and friends that have already pre-ordered a copy astounds me.
So now that we are just over halway through the year means that the release date will be here in no time at all. It’s incredible to me how much time seems to speed up the older you get. A year seems to go by in just a few months rather than twelve of them. Just one month after the release I will be 56 and maybe going to a gig in Paisley to celebrate (or maybe not – we’ll see). I feel far too old these days!
Anyway, 90 days and counting down until my book gets released to the world…
