Bloody Aussies And Their Impertinent Questions! Jim and Iva Oz TV Interview

Posted on November 26, 2023November 26, 2023 By Priptona 4 Comments on Bloody Aussies And Their Impertinent Questions! Jim and Iva Oz TV Interview

Seems as if the wee Icehouse SM colab cover of Get It On is getting much more promo “back home” than it is here. Anyway, good that the little clip was put up on YouTube to see.

The tour will be “wilder” than 1981? Lol. I highly doubt it! Given the kind of stuff they’d have got up to in ‘81, hanging about Kings Cross and whatnot. I’m happy to be proved wrong… ???

Even without the “exposure” in terms of ticket sales they have been doing great as most of these joint gigs have sold out already. I suppose keen fans can seek out interviews that ain’t so bad. The ABC ones here is Australia are really good and in depth. We have never had the option for a Q and A session here in Australia, and given the option I probably would give it a miss, I’d be too nervous to ask anything, ( I’d freeze on the spot) , however the opportunity to attend the soundcheck alone would be great as you are seeing the band perhaps in a more relaxed state. The interaction on the website in the past has been really great and very few bands go to that extent, so I can understand how you miss it. Thanks for your reply.

You’re welcome. Thank you for visiting the blog and interacting and commenting. It still stuns me that people come and visit this blog and read the posts. I really wish it had all worked out for me getting home to see them play down there. And to see them with Icehouse would have bern unreal! But it was obviously never meant to be for me.
I don’t know why the soundcheck extra is not offered to Oz fans. Must be down to the promoters they work with down there or something? It really puzzles me. I know other bands and artists that play Oz offer the VIP tickets with meet and greets and the like.
Not too long to wait for the gigs now! 😁👏🏻👏🏻

Agree, “The Project” for some odd reason gets the exposure but its dreadful with the hosts whose egos are so overblown. Prime time to avoid, never watch it. What crap questions, same old same old. I suppose the same old might appeal to the general public… but the “Don’t you” question is so frustrating, geez there were more songs that charted here than just “Don’t you.. if they took the time to do proper research, how about focus on “Love Song” which was the song in 81 they were referring to…. To busy plugging themselves… Equally “Great Southern Land” same deal same questions. Both blokes did well to turn it around.

Sadly they’ll do these kinds of mainstream, high profile interviews time and again because it’s “exposure”, when really it’s true fans that are most interested in the interviews and if some of these fans were allowed to interview them and ask GREAT questions, that would be fabulous. The bands are just not interested. Instead, we are left to pay a good whack of money for the opportunity to asks questions at soundcheck q and a sessions. It does leave me to wonder sometimes how much they really do appreciate their fans.
Having said that, for a while into my fandom, Jim was active on social media (mostly FB) and really seemed to enjoy engaging with fans and answering questions posed. It died away several years ago to almost nothing. Last time he responded to me I probably killed off any future engagement by daring to question his fairly frivolous response. Never mind. I guess rock stars will always put up these kinds of barriers. It’s all part of the ‘mystique’ and notoriety that comes with stardom.
      Sorry for the rant. Lol
