A Study Day – A ‘ Hawk’ – and An Early Birthday Present

Posted on October 28, 2023October 28, 2023 By Priptona No Comments on A Study Day – A ‘ Hawk’ – and An Early Birthday Present

I spent the day at the Glasgow Caledonian University partaking in a study day, which was really good. Having just met up with the OH to do a wee spot of shopping in the Buchanan Galleries, I spotted Alex from Hamish Hawk’s band walk past me. Well, I at least thought it was Alex. I was sure enough to turn round and run after him.
“Excuse me, excuse me”, I say, lightly tapping him on his arm. “Are you who I think you are? Oh, maybe you’re not. Oh, this is embarrassing!”

“No, no. Go on…I might be the person. Who do you think I am?”

“You’re from Hamish Hawk. The bass player.”
“Hey, you knew. That’s me. Oh, fame at last!”

We had a wee chat and he was really lovely and I was a hot mess. Lol. Embarrassed that I had stopped him and then was thinking I’ve probably made a HUGE mistake and it’s just a guy who really looks like him but isn’t. I think he was quite amazed to be recognised.

It wasn’t something I was expecting to happen today so it was just lovely. He was happy to pose for a photie too.

Afterwards we headed to Love Music and the OH treated me to a copy of New Gold Dream: Live From Paisley Abbey on vinyl. It is absolutely STUNNING. Aesthetic matching the aural beauty of it.

Feeling blessed. Today was a good day.
