Is I am guessing is the answer (re: title of the post). Well, I guess Jim is now also focusing on his tome and … I dunno. I really feel like it’s that petty fucking “no one’s the boss of me” BS at play or some shit. I dunno what it is…but I had the feeling that even from day ONE when fans started asking these kind of questions and putting these pleas out that Jim had absolutely NO INTEREST in doing this AT ALL.
Someone asked weeks back “how do you think we could get their attention on getting some kind of remote live thing happening?” And I replied with “get a GoFund me page going” because it seems the only language Jim understands sometimes. (The filthy lucre.) And I was honest! Because, that’s how it seems – and he doesn’t do much to counter that opinion with crass statements about going down to Oz in Newcastle because “we were offered a LOT of money” Well, bully for you, Jim. And guess who pays for it all, eh? Mugs like us. And that’s how you blatantly treat us, with statements like that! “Oh, you fools!”
Makes a mockery of that line you like to trot out time and again “We’d have paid YOU to play live when we got started.” Oh, really? Yeah…well, not fucking now. Money talks – and you love its language, Mr Kerr.
But, you know, even that idea this person proposed…a previously unseen gig – that wouldn’t even take you guys getting together. No Zoom meeting involved.
And, you know what? This thing doesn’t have to be put on for free, Jim. Some people actually put these things on behind a “pay wall”!! Piqued your interest yet, Mr Ker-ching? Just…don’t go printing money with it, right? Make it a nominal charge. Many people are struggling now. Jobs being forloughed, etc. Oh, imagine having to have to work for someone?! Yuk!
Now! Before you get too pissed off with me and think about blocking my arse again from SM FB – I KNOW I AM INCREDIBLY LUCKY – I saw you at Copenhagen! And you are not twisting my arm on going to ANY of your gigs, or buying ANY of your merch…I do it all of my own volition! This isn’t about me. It’s about the fans looking forward to gigs that were coming up that got cancelled. All the fans, the “REAL FANS” (if you insist!) that missed out this year.
Lift their spirits, man! GIVE THEM SOMETHING! You must have recorded at least ONE 40 Years Live gig before Coronavirus put the kibosh on 2020. What say you, Jim?
