musicradar in association with Rhythm magazine have put out their nominations for the Drum awards 2017, and Cherisse is up for the nod for best live session drummer.
There has been an incredible wealth of drumming talent I’ve seen this year, from Paul Draper’s drummer Jon Barnett, The Stranglers’ stand-in for Jet Black – Jim Macauley, the drumming legends that are the Manic Street Preachers’ Sean Moore and *THE* SPIDER FROM MARS – Woody Woodmansey, to the brilliant Andrew Hodson of Warm Digits…
But none impressed me more than, to quote Jim, “the little dynamo”, Cherisse Osei. Having seen her play 10 times in the past 12 months, I can tell you, this nomination is very richly deserved! The best of luck, Cherisse. My vote is cast, and if you can spare a few mins, please cast yours. Votes are open until the end of November! (Click the image to vote)
And just to remind you…here’s our girl in action at Bristol in May.
