Favourite Simple Minds Album?

Posted on November 19, 2015October 3, 2023 By Priptona No Comments on Favourite Simple Minds Album?

It was a question posed (along with a “and why?” attached) on one of the Simple Minds Facebook fan pages. This was my reply…

Empires And Dance for me. Really made me sit up and take notice of their early work. European avant guard at its best. Disco leanings with tracks like I Travel and Celebrate, dark lyrics in things like This Fear Of Gods, Thirty Frames A Second and Room, one of most beautiful and underrated instrumentals of theirs with Kant Kino, and great avant guard experimentation in Today I Died Again, Capital City, Twist/Run/Repulsion and Constantinople Line (some tongue-in-cheek from Jim thrown in on that one too). Just an all round fabulous package. I never skip a single track. On from start til finish. Love, love, love.
