Brian McGee Appreciation – Capital City – Folllies 1980

Posted on July 11, 2015June 14, 2025 By Priptona No Comments on Brian McGee Appreciation – Capital City – Folllies 1980

It’s 1980 – so the quality of this video is not the best – but WOW! Just wow! I loooooooooooove early Simple Minds so much! Capital City just slowly pulses (That ‘PULSE!’ vocal couldn’t be more apt! Well played, Jim!), with such a great bassline from Derek, almost pizzicato guitar bits by Charlie, and as ever, wonderful keys by Mick – held together by Brian’s drum glue.

Oh, it’s just so post-industrial European, it’s almost obscene! If I could marry a whole band, I would marry Simple Minds in 1980!

More appreciation for Brian McGee!
