Review of SITR Boxset in Q Magazine

Posted on February 24, 2015December 13, 2024 By Priptona No Comments on Review of SITR Boxset in Q Magazine

Review of the Sparkle In The Rain boxset in this month’s (labelled April 2015) Q Magazine.

The picture caption says (Simple Minds in 1984) – nope, 1982 that picture was taken. I have it from a magazine clipping dated Dec 1982.

Not strictly true that SITR was the first album Mel Gaynor recorded with them. Yes, COMPLETELY, yes…but he *did* provide drum parts to New Gold Dream. Sorry to be pedantic.

And them playing Barrowlands in 1984 is NOT the last time they’ve “played anywhere so intimate”. Pfft! Have you seen some of the venues they’ll play this year? And played in 2013/14??

Lazy journos.

Still, the review is positive.
