Where Dreams Go To Die – John Grant

Posted on April 16, 2017October 2, 2023 By Priptona No Comments on Where Dreams Go To Die – John Grant

At the moment my Simple Minds blog is under extreme risk of turning into a John Grant blog! As I said yesterday, I am just absolutely overdosing on this man’s music in the lead up to the gig at Union Chapel, London, on May 2nd. Today, two of his songs have been jostling in my head for earworm of the day. This is the first.

Lovely to hear him speak of it before performing it. The Carpenters’ influence is strong on this track, yes. Superstar in particular. OMG! The way Karen delivers that song always leaves me in floods of tears. So here are both of them…side by side. Compare and contrast…and have your tissues at the ready! If these songs don’t move you, you’re a heartless automaton.
