Some very sad news from Camp SM to report this morning. John Giblin has passed away. Reports were coming in last night from a couple of sources of his passing, and like others, I held off relaying the news until confirmation of the news was compounded. This appears to have happened overnight.
A different touch and finesse was given to Simple Minds music when John joined. For many he had big shoes to fill – but his feet were WAAAY up to the task of filling those shoes.
Through his career he worked with many renowned musicians. he will be sadly missed by many. My condolences to his nearest and dearest.

Sad news that. John was the bass player when I started getting into Simple Minds. On a more positive note with Andy Rourke?s passing I only need Flea of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to kick the bucket for my ?bass player death treble? to come up at William Hills. ? ?
