So Much To Say …. So Little Time …

Cyrano De Bergerac was amazing! More on that to come.

There has been pre-sale tickets released for the added Simple Minds PSG gig with all proceeds going to UNICEF for Children in Ukraine.

We’re in!

And…there are just some odds and sods to talk about as well.

And … there’s this!

A taxi driver? Really, Jim? Lol

And…. he was a “good boy”?! Pfffffft! You ain’t fooling no one there, Kerr! 😂😂😂😂

Anyway, I shall try and do an extended post on today’s trip to the city in the morning. I know you’re all DYING to know about it! Lol

Laters!

A Welcome Delivery

Received these in the mail this morning from Virginia.

Merry Kerr-istmas 🎄🎄🥰🥰🥰

Photos taken in August, 1981. The three at the top, in preparations for the gig that evening in Edinburgh. The bottom three, waiting around at Heathrow Airport for the flight back to Scotland.

Jim’s August Spotify Playlist

I haven’t listened to it myself, yet. That will wait until later tonight as I settle to bed (it is usually when I do my listening to music. Haven’t been listening to much lately, in all honesty. I may just play one or two songs in a whole day). Some songs are unfamiliar to me and will be debut hearings for me personally. It’s great when someone can expose you to something entirely new to you. My friend, Michelle, has done that with a couple of songs of late. And great songs they have been too! I’m sure Jim’s will be great as well. It is rare for me not to like something he likes and recommends.

So, tonight I will listen and perhaps tomorrow I will share my responses. Adios.

(Jim’s reasons for his choices can be viewed via the various Simple Minds social media. Facebook is the best place to view it.)

Nae Summer Nights – For Summer Sessions

Why? I mean… of course Edinburgh needed a gig. But couldn’t we have had a Summer Nights gig at the Kelvingrove Bandstand too?

I have enough gigs to be getting on with, I guess.

Anyways… another gig. Edinburgh this time. August 18th. Further details, info to buy tickets, etc, from the usual sources.

UPDATE: Tickets are now on sale. I bought my ticket via Tickets Scotland as they were several pounds cheaper than Ticketmaster. It’s not my place to tell you where to buy tickets from. I thought it useful info, but other people have different ideas. But if you want to save a few quid (around about £8 on a VIP ‘inner bowl’ ticket, then here’s the link you need. (As of time of posting, Inner Bowl tickets have already sold out.)

A Revolution In August?

Yes, August will be a quiet month gig wise… but there is THIS. I missed seeing him at the same store a few months back. Only saw that he had been there a few days after it happened.

This time I know and can quite easily get there on the day. Maybe see if I can very briefly interview him? It def. would be cool if he agreed! We shall see in a few weeks time!

Have An Ogling Merry Christmas

Christmas has arrived a little early for me this year in the form of a set of three prints from Virginia Turbett of Jim backstage at a gig at – I think it’s the Odeon in Edinburgh on August 27th, 1981 – and I think it may be post gig, as he appears to be, if I have the sequence right, changing out of his collared shirt worn during the gig, back into his “Bookie’s Club 870” shirt that he was wearing pre gig (and getting his makeup done).

I have been allowed to share a pic of them with Virginia’s kind permission.

I think you guys can see why I was hankering after these three from the first time I saw them almost one year ago. I’m such an ogling pervert! Lol

Merry Christmas to me! (Better get the laminator out, or hurry up and get them framed! Protect them from water damage from the drool pools. Lol)

On a more serious note – if you love rock music memorabilia and archival black and white photography (she does colour photos too!), then Virginia has an amazing portfolio of images – not just of Simple Minds, but of loads of bands and artists shot between the late 70’s to mid 80’s.
