An interesting set of venues with dates for the end of June and early July 2025. Had I still been living in Luton the Bedford venue would have felt literally just around the corner from me! The nearest they’d have ever played to my (as of back then) “home” town.
As it is, from the dates so far – much like this last summer – Scottish dates are lacking. What looked like an oversight this summer just past is now beginning to look like a downright snub of their home turf. What the fudge is going on, Simple Minds?! What gives?! Where are the Scottish dates? It better be because you’re waiting on Regular Music to organise the rest of the dates for next year’s Summer Nights at Kelvingrove Bandstand before you announce anything. Who knows?
If I think of going to any of the dates so far – then it might just well be Bedford. The OH loves any excuse to visit Luton – so this would at least kill two birds with one stone. She gets a trip “home”, and I’d get to see SM at least once next year. We’ll see…
As for choosing a venue for aesthetics and vibes? The Piece Hall in Halifax looks amazing. I wanted to go when The Anchoress played there but couldn’t. I doubt I’ll get there for SM, either. Lincoln Castle would be AMAZING! Again…can’t see that happening. Trinity College, Dublin would be OUT OF THIS WORLD! I’d looooove to go back to Dublin, but again…nae chance!
So, for me it’s looking like Bedford or bust at the moment. Unless there is a Scottish date somewhere in the calendar. Hmmm.

There are presales happening tomorrow at 9am BST (Wednesday 2 October) for fans, with general sales from 9am BST on Friday 4 October. No sales links yet, but I’m sure tickets will be available through all reputable (loosely termed) ticket sellers. Presales are available to those signed up to the SM mailing list.
