Bootleg Beauty!
Listening to another live gig tonight. Sounding like a good one so far. Look at that date! What a Christmas present!!!

Been pulling the reins in on the spending on SM memorabilia, but when I saw this little bundle on eBay last week – I had to have a bid! Picked them up for a bargain! (£3.79). Some nice photos too – and a colour cover on one! Lots of photos are inky dot-matrix prints, but…
Sparkle In The Rain era reviews in Smash Hits magazine through 1984. Waterfront achieved the high praise of “single of the fortnight”. Ooh!!
Colour photoset of Simple Minds performing at Werchter Festival in 1983.
Speed Your Love To Me lyrics printed in Smash Hits magazine, Jan-Feb, 1984.
Shared a very similar photo in colour recently. Love it in black and white too. They’re such lovely looking boys! Even Derek 😉 (I’m joking! – and I mean I’m joking about the “even Derek” bit. Big Dan has his own “hawt” thing going on – he’s just not MY particular cup of chai)
Montage of Simple Minds photos, circa 1981. From the book “Simple Minds: A Visual Documentary” by Mike Wrenn, published in 1990.
The young bhoys. At top from left to right: Brian McGee, Derek Forbes, Mick MacNeil. Bottom, left to right: Jim Kerr, Charlie Burchill. Ooh, they are so serious! Jim is brooding and smouldering!! Charlie looks a bit pissed off and sad – which is ssooo odd for Charlie!
Pictures of Charlie Burchill, Michael (Mick) MacNeil and Jim Kerr from the Sparkle In The Rain tour program.
German single release of Changeling. The lead and subsequently ONLY single off the Real To Real Cacophony album. The single was released January, 1980. I much prefer this cover to the UK cover. At least we get to see the lovely bhoys on this cover 🙂
