Dang! Okay, so it was a SFY shirt…and well, it isn’t looking too dissimilar in concept to the Grandslam Summer design, to be honest.
I know Stuart is the current designer. And he’s fabulous…oh, but to just DREAM of something like that! One break! One special one off. And not even for monetary gain or anything, but just to be able to say “Frigging wow! What an honour! The band I love are allowing me to design a shirt!” It would be unreal.
But there we are. That’s not how the world works.
Still, one could argue I’ve had my five minutes.
Damn! I hate when my green-eyed monster rears its ugly head. But, god…it would just be so amazing.
I wasn’t going to buy from the SM shop because…you know, I am sooo bloody skint right now…but how could I pass up getting two SM shirts for £10?
I’d had my eye on this Koko “Themes” CD labels one for…well, years…and finally, some 2 years after the fact (and also rubbing in the fact that I didn’t get to go, because I was in Oz) I got a Big Music autumn tour dates shirt. It’s actually my FIRST and only Big Music shirt. Better late than never.
The Simple Minds Shop was having a sale…and of course, I got roped in to having a look. Lots of Acoustic Tour merch marked down…but I had been eyeing off a baseball style SM shirt with the “Glasgow ’77” wording and Kerr tartan heart/claddagh logo for a while now. Some lines were “never to be restocked” they said, so…there was ONE baseball shirt left…in medium. I HAD to snap it up in the vain hope it would fit.
It’s tight! But…it kinda fits (fun to get over the old “chesticles” – all the weight I have lost and my tits have hardly shrunk – fuck it!). I’m determined to get it to fit more comfortably. Another piece to add to the ” weight loss goals” part of the wardrobe. Hopefully won’t be long before I can wear it with pride.
God KNOWS what I have spent at this shop in the past three years…
It won’t fit me. I have bigger jugs than Oktoberfest! Lol. But seeing as there was an email come in with a £5 discount and all…and the shirt is half price at £8…and take that fiver off! Too good to miss!
