Review of the Sparkle In The Rain boxset in this month’s (labelled April 2015) Q Magazine. The picture caption says (Simple Minds in 1984) – nope, 1982 that picture was taken. I have it from a magazine clipping dated Dec 1982. Not strictly true that SITR was the first album Mel Gaynor recorded with them….
Photo of Jim Kerr taken by Kevin Cummins for The Face magazine (circa 1984).
I always wanted to know what the t-shirt Jim wears in this photo said/was…and now I know! It’s an Australian music festival. Simple Minds played there in 1984. The logo is very May Gibbs/Gumnut babies inspired (Google it if you don’t know what I’m on about). So cute!
Jim Kerr – circa 1982
jkleftear: OMG!! I could utterly, absolutely EAT HIM!!! And his left ear is sssoooo curly and cute and Vulcan-like! Nom, nom, nom!!! Ditto!
The baby bhoys 🙂 circa 1979 L to R: Michael MacNeil, Derek Forbes, Charlie Burchill, Brian McGee, Jim Kerr.
He’s in full mid-eighties mullet mode here…but BY GOD…I still would. Any. Bloody. Day. Of. The. Week!
Look at the make-up on him – top right! Wow! I fucking love you, Jim Kerr!
He is just too adorable for words – Jim Kerr (Oh, and Charlie Burchill behind him)
