Two reviews of Real To Real Cacophony by Red Starr in Smash Hits magazine, late 1979. The first one (on blue page) give a somewhat disparaging but ultimately positive review and a rating of 8/10. The second review betrays the dismissive tone of the first and is utterly glowing and is rate 9.5/10!! I don’t…
Will have lots of photos and some vid footage to share later. Simple Minds were SSSOOO amazing! Never wanted the night to end! And if it were even POSSIBLE for me to love Jim Kerr any more than I do, well… He is beyond lovely!! The version of Don’t You seemed to go on FOREVER…by…

Gig review of the Tour Du Monde (Sparkle In The Rain) from Dec 1983.

Transcript of article: All that glitters… Simple Minds‘Sparkle In The Rain’(Virgin V2300)** “We will rock you little chil’ ”. No, it’s not a line from…

Review of the Sparkle In The Rain boxset in this month’s (labelled April 2015) Q Magazine. The picture caption says (Simple Minds in 1984) – nope, 1982 that picture was taken. I have it from a magazine clipping dated Dec 1982. Not strictly true that SITR was the first album Mel Gaynor recorded with them….
