One of my Christmas presents to myself arrived today. A beautiful handwritten lyric sheet of You And Only You by The Anchoress. Thank you, Catherine. I will store it away until I am moved in to my new house so I can then frame the pages and have them on display ???
Not only those beautiful ogling photos from Virginia that I got just prior to Xmas…but these too! Feeling very grateful.
It’s a happy birthday to the multi-talented supremo, Catherine Anne Davies (aka The Anchoress), today. Here are her thoughts on the recently released reissued box set of The Beatles’ 1968 eponymous work (aka The White Album), as discussed in the current edition of Long Live Vinyl magazine…
As album number two for The Anchoress nears completion, Catherine departs from Simple Minds to concentrate on her solo career. This blog will continue to watch the progress and keep you up-to-date with all things Anchoress.

Oh…to look sexy. Lol. Or at least be another 4 stone lighter. Still! The leopard print is on and I am off to see The Anchoress and Manic Street Preachers! BRING IT ON!
I was working out how many gigs I’ve got coming up last night – and the answer was – 14 of the things! (And still hoping to sort another two Simple Minds gigs on top of that…if only money grew on trees.) I have NEVER been to so many gigs in my life! The love…
Here is the audio excerpt of Catherine’s interview with Steve Lamacq and her performance as The Anchoress (and band), performing a great version of Long Year and What Goes Around, live from the Southbank Centre as part of day one of Robert Smith’s Meltdown Festival. Enjoy! (Pic taken from Catherine’s FB page.)
The Anchoress (Catherine Anne Davies) will be live in session on BBC Radio 6Music with Steve Lamaqc from 4pm BST – live from the Southbank Centre, as Robert Smith’s Meltdown Festival gets under way. You can tune in HERE
