Simple Minds circa 1980/81. Photo by Virginia Turbett Jim, in his usual pose of the period…hands clasped behind his neck. Looking resplendent and glorious…the other guys (apart from Brian McGee), all looking brooding and aloof – trying to outjim Jim. Lol Give it up bhoys (Brian knows) ! You’’ll NEVER do brooding like Jim Kerr…
Jim on Roundtable this week, reviewing the new releases out this week.. On Thursday, Nov 5th at 6pm GMT on Radio 6 Music. Jim Kerr guests on Steve Lamacq’s Roundtable
Jim and Charlie involved in a special gig tonight in Glasgow, in aid of Save The Children Child Refugee Crisis Appeal. If you can’t make the gig (like I, myself) then please donate using the link below. I already have :-)) http://www.savethechildren.org.uk/about-us/emergencies/child-refugee-crisis-appeal
Beautiful birthday card from my Other Half – complete with Robert Smith wanting to lick Jim and Jim checking his “watch” at Cambridge during the extended “Don’t You” sing-a-long. Lol
Some fantastic photos of Jim Kerr on Getty Images, circa 1983. Pictures by Brian Rasic. I’ve seen the picture on the right around, but have never seen it so clear and crisp. He’s gorgeous (as ever!) in this one. A new fave, I think. Such a pretty, pretty bhoy! *sigh*

It is SO reminiscent of “Waltzinblack” by The Stranglers (another absolute FAVE instrumental – oddly enough, The Stranglers are the Minds’ support/co headliners…
theispot: Ruth Rowland’s rock ‘n’ roll approach to hand lettering landed her another music gig, this time for a new single brought out by two era-defining bands, Simple Minds and The Stranglers, that got together to record a version of the 1977 punk classic, “(Get A) Grip (On Yourself).” Created with a pen she made…
