Jim Kerr, circa 1986. I don’t think long hair suits him much…but just a personal preference. He’d love to able to grow it like this these days! But I’m glad he can’t! Shorter hair suits him so much better 🙂
Colour photo of Sparkle promo shots out on the ferry. From left to right: Mick MacNeil, Charlie Burchill, Jim Kerr, Mel Gaynor, Derek Forbes.
Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill on the set of the Up On The Catwalk video shoot.
Another “Sparkle” era promo shot of Jim Kerr. This suit is the same he wears on the cover of Smash Hits magazine in Dec, 1983 and the suit he’s wearing in the Waterfront video.
Sequence of photos of Simple Minds during Sparkle In The Rain promotional touring, late ‘83/early ’84. It was a cold old day! They’re all pretty rugged up – except for Mick, he’s used to those Barra gales :-)) The first photo is another of my faves of Jim. That tousled hair is gorgeous!
I wish this photo was in colour! I’ve seen it in colour – and have shared it here…but it’s not in the same clarity with this one and was part of a montage. Jim’s make-up in this shot is INSANE! And his eyes look AMAZING! He is just too beautiful! I think my eyes may…
Shared a very similar photo in colour recently. Love it in black and white too. They’re such lovely looking boys! Even Derek 😉 (I’m joking! – and I mean I’m joking about the “even Derek” bit. Big Dan has his own “hawt” thing going on – he’s just not MY particular cup of chai)
Montage of Simple Minds photos, circa 1981. From the book “Simple Minds: A Visual Documentary” by Mike Wrenn, published in 1990.
Jim Kerr, circa 1980 – a similar picture (most likely from the same set/gig/photographer) was used for the Early Gold CD released in 2003.
