soundsof71: On January 27, 1971, David Bowie arrived in America for the first time…wearing this dress. He was detained by security for over an hour. These photos were taken in LA in February. (My edits. Sorry I don’t have credits for the photos or scans. Lemme know and I’ll add ‘em.)

Wikipedia entry for Laird and the part in which it says some Lairds wear bonnets! Bonnets for men, it would seem, are VERY different to what they are for women. I’m more used to referring to them as Tam O’Shanters. Featured underneath these Wiki notes is Laird Dash Fandango in varous bonnet 😉 thebizarremooneyeball
